Statement on pDC morphology via fluorescence microscopy?

Postby pDCsrock » Feb 10 2017 9:00 am

Hi all!

I am am medical student who has been working with pDCs for a while.
We were conduction 3-color confocal fluorescence microscopy on pDCs in PBMC smears.
I am now wondering to which extend it is possible to make a statement on the pDC morphology.
The pDCs were freshly isolated from blood, so I expect them to be plasmacytoid i.e. not dendritic, neither did we observe dendrites. I am just wondering if the technique allows to state that we saw that they are not yet dendritic...

What do you think?

Best regards
