Criteria to design probe for application of DNA biosensor

Postby SPK » Jul 05 2017 7:46 am

Hi all, I am in the midst of designing a probe for use in DNA biosensor. This is my first time dealing with ssDNA probe and biosensor. May I know is it difference from designing a Taqman probe for qPCR?

Is it similar to designing a forward primer and I have to design few probes then trial and error?

Any criteria that I must obey like amplicon length 18-30 bases? GC content 40-60%?.... Anymore, so to make it workable during hybridization?

Hope anyone can help me in answering my queries.

Thank you very much.
