RC DC Protein assay

Postby Genebee » Jun 07 2005 6:22 am

Has anyone tried the Bio Rad RC DC protein assay kit? They claim that protein can be quantified right from Laemmli sample buffer without being interfered by the reducing agent or the detergent.....not sure about the dye though! I have tried the kit but ended up with totally different numbers for the same samples when I tried reading the absorbances in a microplate reader (655 nm) and a spectrophotometer (750 nm). My sample buffer had bromophenol blue in it but for the assay I diluted them further in fresh sample buffer that I made without the dye in it.
