Postby ety mia » May 11 2017 5:45 am

hye guys.. :)
my sample for 2DE was plant leaves and the best ief method was 4000v. does it considered high?
since my plant is medicinal plant and ive found studies reporting other medicinal plant use up to 10000v of ief.

it depends on the specific ief method and apparatus.

for instance, 10000V is common for capillary ief.

4000V for gel ief may be the limiting voltage, it may actually run lower. i used to run with a 2000V power supply but never hit that voltage during the run (power and current had set limits, as well).

if the voltage is too high then you may experience arcing with concomitant burning of the gel.
