Intro 400 words - Why are some much longer?

Postby ops959 » May 31 2017 2:21 pm

Most introductions are about 400 words. Is there a reason why other paper introductions are so much longer? Is it the journal? When is it okay to write longer than 400 words?

Some journals do limit the length of introduction, but others have no limit. However, you do not have to write lengthy introduction, just a summary of recent reports and the reason you want to further the study on this area of research.
