Postby Marissafielden » Dec 26 2017 9:15 am

Hi all,

The methods of isolating genomic DNA and plasmid DNA are more or less similar, and then viewing under uv after gel electrophoresis, how to know whether it is genomic DNA or plasmid DNA?

Thanks!

you can tell by size. genomic will remain up near the origin (unless degraded). plasmid will travel farther into the gel.
